For sisters that are interested to make their own hijab pins, the single most important component is the stick pins. Ths stick pins must be sharp enough so that it will not destroy the hijabs and strong enough so that it will not bend. The stick pins that we used to make our dangling hijab pins is about 18 gauge thick and 2 1/2 inches long.

Other findings needed to make your own hijab pins are jumps rings, beads, jewelry wire and/or chains - most of these items can be purchased from any craft stores.
